The only problem is an extra $1000 or so on the bill because these new places are all in the International Terminal at Sydney International Airport and you’ll need a ticket to fly in order to eat. I remember having a very fine meal at Maxim’s at Charles de Gaulle in Paris. Well, now at Sydney you’ve got: Caviar House & Prunier Seafood Bar — ask if the caviar comes from a sustainable fishery; a branch of Jared Ingersoll’s popular inner Sydney eatery Danks Street Depot with an open kitchen serving meals made using seasonal and sustainable produce — if you’ve been to Danks Street you know the deal; Bambini Wine Room for a calming glass of something special with a snack on the way in or out; or, for a little pasta before you take off, Trattoria Prego; and finally, what’s an airport without sushi? Itacho Sushi is an offshoot of Hong Kong’s Itamae Sushi — and there’s a bonus. To avoid the truly dire food served by most airlines in cattle class (where most of us travel), take a bento box on board.
