Civet droppings anyone?
No doubt you’ve heard of Kopi Luwak, that curious beverage brewed from coffee beans that have taken a leisurely tour through the Asian palm civet’s digestive system before being deposited on the forest floor and, we hope, thoroughly washed before being passed through (pardon the phrase) a coffee machine of some sort. I’ve tried it and was underwhelmed, but who knows, the sample I had was probably stale. If you’re curious and you don’t mind parting with $9 for a coffee, you can have a taste at Olio Mediterranean Brasserie (201 Pacific Highway, Ph 9439 8988). Dropping in is encouraged.
