Duelling chefs

If you want to see sellebrity chefs creating dishes on stage and battling it out for the top possie, you’ll want to shell out for the Variety of Chefs Red Carpet Dinner. Up there on stage will be Ben O’Donoghue (Surfing the Menu), Jared Ingersoll (Danks St Depot), Warren Turnbull (Assiette), Nick Clarke (Toast Food), Sean Connolly (Astral) and Peter Kuruvita (Flying Fish). Not sure how it will work — do you have to wait for them to create the dish and the kitchen to cook it for everybody else before you eat, or is it a case of “here’s one I prepared before”, which would make the whole thing look just a little dodgy. Anyway, it’s all for a good cause (sick and disadvantaged children) and your ticket will cost you $195 a head or you might like to put together a table — $5000 buys you a silver table for 10, $10,000 a gold table — and it all happens on September 30 at Doltone House at Jones Bay Wharf.
