Festa Turns Italian

September 2008

The Norton Street Festa, this year to be held October 26, has been taken over by Co.As.It (the Italian Association of Assistance) and will, we are told, be 100 per cent Italian. No more Turkish ladies serving gozleme, but plenty of bocce, coffee art, and the first ever ItalyOnline and Regione Toscana Association's Festa Idol, a competition for singers, dancers and music with a special section for 10-year-old Italian boys singing O Sole Mio (I think that's a joke but you never know). There'll be football clinics as well as Commedia Dell'Arte performances. We'll be in the front line for Nonni in Cucina where Italian grandparents share their cooking secrets (or else)
