Fireside Festival Canberra
Good food, a crackling fire and a glass of local red grasped in the mitt is the core idea of the Fireside Festival, which runs throughout the ACT during August. At Lerida Estate (Federal Highway Lake George, Ph 6295 6640), for example, there are the Sunday Fireside Dinner Parties where a visiting chef gives you a lesson in creating a dinner party course and helps with matching wines to the food. That’s every Sunday evening from August 2 to August 30. But there’s a whole lot more going on, from sheep musters to hot stone massages (you missed out on the Twilight Grave and Ghost Stories, booked out), which you can find out about by going to www.firesidefestival.com.au.
