While writing this column I had an email from
a reliable correspondent telling me about Tomislav (Level 2/13 Kirketon Road Darlinghurst, Ph 9356 4535), where impressively credentialed chef Tomislav Martinovic — Aria, Fat Duck, Capitol London — is rattling pans and shaking up the locals. My correspondent writes, “I love the presentation of the fig dessert — a thin layer of fresh figs on a slate dish, the shy sweetness of the figs coaxed out by a citrus gelato. Sugar fiends will complain. A dessert for grown-ups indeed.” On the list.
