Media movements
Those of you who follow these things may be interested in some of the movements going on in the food media. Joanna Savill, who has been writing for The Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Living section and co-editing the Good Food Guide (AKA The Posh Food Guide), has taken the job of director of the Sydney International Food Festival, which will supersede the SMH Month of Good Living. With a budget of $60 million from the NSW government, expect a lavish show.
And, second, both restaurant critic and assistant editor of Epicure, the Mebourne Age’s version of Good Living, have crossed the floor to The Australian, signalling a serious-about-food future for that paper in 2009.
We’ll watch with interest.
