Qmin going Mace
Anil Ashokan has changed the name of his seven-year-old restaurant Qmin to Mace (Shop 5/207B Pacific highway St Leonards, Ph 9966 5557), another spice (Qmin = cumin), which he describes as a “highly fragrant crimson-coloured spice…the dried lacy covering that envelopes the nutmeg seed” (see picture) and not the mace used in teargas spray, although that is sometimes made using the chemical constituent of chilli that hurts. Anil tells us he’s doing away with mains and starters and it’ll be an all share menu.
