Sydney’s first posh Indian
We’ve always listed it as Tamana’s on Top, but last month, it’s had a name change — a fairly inspired one at that. Why? Because Tamana’s North Indian Diner is on the ground floor and people were always getting their Tamanas tangled. Now, upstairs it’s Posh Spice (Level 1, 196 King Street, Newtown, Ph 9557 6399), much the same as T on T was, still wowing them with Bollywood dancing after dinner and serving bolly good cocktails with bolly awful names like Slumdog Margarita and Butterscotch Bangalore. When asked who came up with the new name, we were told, “It might even have been the chef”, Amit Guha, whom we previously noted at Tandoori Sizzler in Dural. Clever chef.
