Well, Well, Wellington
And, speaking of crossing the pond — or in this case the ditch — Wellington is coming to Sydney for a couple of weeks. Leaping into a temporarily deserted space, the old Bayswater Brasserie, with the agility of a frightened sheep, a flock of Wellington chefs — Rex Morgan (Boulcott Street Bistro), Shaun Clouston (Logan Brown), Jacob Brown (The Larder) and Tom Hutchison (Capitol) — will be running a pop-up restaurant called WLG (32 Bayswater Road Kings Cross, Ph 0406 735 400) serving up New Zealand dishes using a lot of NZ produce and serving New Zealand from September 14 to 26. And what of the old BB after that? Well, we’re still crossing our fingers that Tony Bilson will slip in and do a food/theatre/music-style operation a la Kinsela’s of fond memories. We’ll keep you posted.
