Yet more EatFests
Just when you thought it was safe to eat at home, more chances to gorge yourself come along.
First, in Sydney in January, Tony Bilson, now being billed as ‘The Godfather of Modern Australian Cuisine’ and one of my favourite chefs (even if he wasn’t a friend, I’d eat his food), is running an elaborate mini food festival called Cuisine Now. Basically, it’s a series of lunches and dinners in January in Sydney, featuring, as the website puts it, “some of the best chefs in the world” doing lunches, dinners and masterclasses. From Australia there will be Tony, Tetsuya Wakuda, Philippe Mouchel and Cheong Liew; from France, Nicolas le Bec and Reine Sammut; and from England, Michel Roux Senior. A stellar line-up indeed. And then, just to give you time to plan your trip, don’t forget the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival to be held March 12–23, 2010. That can be found at melbournefoodandwine.com.au
