KAMARI GREEK TAVERNA KAFE
Cuisine: Greek
Named after a beach in Santorini, this cafe channels the island’s relaxed and seafood-dominated seaside dining scene with its beachfront location. You won’t see the sunset over the ocean but you will see Greek food made simple, wholesome and packed with flavour, just like at home. Start with dips, $7.90 for four, including taramosalata, and choose some mezedes, such as ricotta and herb-stuffed zucchini flowers $14.90. Next, don’t pass up the lamb — whether it’s slow-roasted with potatoes and pumpkin $27.90 or backstrap with vegetables and red wine jus $27.90. Prawn linguine $25.90 breaks up a salad-, meat- and seafood-happy mains selection. As for dessert, we’re still alive after sharing the “immortal sin”: triple-layered caramel, chocolate mousse and white chocolate cheesecake $8.90.
