I went to this restaurant on Friday night with two friends. We all had the Duck pasta which tasted like pasta drenched in runny tasteless gravy with big chunks of duck and we all thought it smelt mysteriously like dog food. A poor chef is forgivable, but food poisoning isn't. All three of us got food poisoning. I was up at 3am vomiting the next morning as were my friends. It's now Sunday and I still feel nauseous. I'm going to ring the health authority, there's something awful going on in that kitchen. Stay away!!more »

Sydney Eats Review
You can tell a true Italian place by the warmth you find inside, not just from the food but the service and general buzz. Dedicated owner Gabriella Fedeli has made this address on quiet Bourke Street her own after being through all sorts of zoning and renovation conundrums. But the good food, great atmosphere and an obvious passion for hospitality have brought it through every time with newcomers often becoming regulars. You’ll find Italian favourites such as gnocchi, which can be paired with a variety of sauces $20, and spaghetti alla vongole $22. Of course, with all Italian meals come the fabulously rich Italian desserts, Il Baretto’s specialties being excellent pannacotta and their legendary tiramisu, both $7.
